- Select one or more subject strands (check each item you want to view). After selecting the strand(s), Choose Objectives changes to Load Objectives:
- The Formative assessment page is displayed in Curriculum View.
- Use the coloured bar below each objective to complete a gap analysis. The bar summarises the cumulative formative assessment for the objective using the different assessment codes:
Focus on areas marked as Not taught or pupil absent, Taught, or Working Towards. The size of each colour in the bar represents the number of pupils within the group who have been assessed at that level:- A solid grey bar shows content that hasn't been taught and needs to be covered with the whole group later.
- A partial grey bar indicates some pupils missed this content, possibly due to absence. Consider addressing this with them individually.
- A red bar signifies that the class has been taught the content, but some pupils struggled. Explore different teaching methods to help them meet the learning objectives.
- A yellow bar means the content was taught, but some pupils may not have fully understood it. Again, consider alternative teaching strategies for these pupils to achieve the learning objectives.
- When reviewing covered objectives, select Breakdown for a summary of pupil coverage. This will inform your planning as you can further see at an individual level which objectives need to be covered / recapped on during future lessons:
Outcome
Using the formative assessment page for your group will help you plan future lessons based on the objectives that require more focus to ensure pupils achieve them.
