This article explains how you can use Sonar Tracker to assess the impact of your interventions (in terms of changes to a pupil's assessment data) between one or more assessment periods by creating an intervention group and viewing these reports:

1. EYFS (2020) Quadrant or Primary Quadrant.
2. EYFS (2020) Assessment Conversion Matrix or Primary Assessment Conversion Matrix.
3. EYFS (2020) Age Related Progress or Primary Age Related Progress.
4. Subject Overview (gives an individual child-specific view).

Instructions

Create an intervention group

1. Select Groups in the sidebar menu to open the Your Groups page
2. Select Add a new group.
3. Enter a Group Name for the intervention group.
4. Select a Group Type (always choose Group if you have an MIS).
5. Select Create Group. Your new group is created immediately and opened.
6. Select the pupil(s) you want to include and select the green arrow to move them into the group. To remove pupils from the group you use the red arrow icon. The group is saved automatically after you move the pupil(s).

Viewing reports

1. Open the appropriate report from the Reports page.
2. Select the appropriate Group you created for the pupils in your intervention group when prompted.
3. Select the From assessment period (set this to the assessment period before the intervention was introduced)
4. Select the To assessment period (set this to an assessment period after the intervention was introduced, for example, could be one, two or more assessment periods after the From assessment period).
5. Select the Subject or in the case of the Quadrant and Age Related Progress reports the subjects to view.
6. Select Filters / Active Filters.
7. Select your intervention group in the Group drop-down within Pupil Groups.
8. Select Apply Filters.
9. View the contents of the report and analyse the impact of your interventions on the group.

Outcome

Any changes in the pupil data for the intervention group that you observe between the periods could be interpreted as a good indication of the impact of any interventions.
