Sisra Analytics: How can I compare if student results are on, above, or below target in KS3/4 reports?

Overview

This article explains two ways to view figures for on, above, or below target in KS3/4 reports:

  1. Use Compare. This will let you compare your current data set with your Targets data set.
  2. Use On Track. This will only provide the desired figures if your EAPs have been set up to use Targets as the EAP Baseline by your Sisra Administrator, and the expected grades have been entered.

Prerequisites

  1. To use the On Track feature, your Sisra Administrator must have set up your EAPs with excited grades (see Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - EAP Overview (Admin).

Instructions

To view the figures for how many students are on, above, or below target in each qualification:

  1. Open REPORTS and select the report for the data set that you want to view.
  2. From the report:

    1. Select Grades.
    2. Select Totals.
    3. Select Qualifications.

Select the tabs below to view the options, based on your needs:

  • To view the on, above, or below figures based on the Targets data set using Compare:

    1. Select Compare.
    2. Select Targets.
    3. Select View.

The Grade - Totals report opens with two additional rows for each qualification, displaying the figures as they would appear in the Targets report (KS4 Targets) and the Difference between the two figures.

There will also be five additional columns on the right side of the report with headings:

Your headings may differ slightly depending on the name of your Targets data set.

These columns show how many students have achieved grades that are above or equal toaboveequal to, or below the grades they were targeted to achieve, along with a not applicable column.

The screenshot below shows that for the DT Textiles qualification, 17 students were above their target grade, 3 were exactly on target, and 20 were below their target grade:

Select the name of the qualification to see this detail at a class level. This will let you see which class has the most students performing above or below target.

Select the percentage icon in the task bar at the top of the report to view these figures as a percentage of students who are on, above, or below target rather than a number:

To see the actual grades achieved by each student compared to their target grade, select Qualification then select the Class name (or select Summary to view all students for that qualification). The Grade column displays the student's grade for that data set, with their Target grade in the row below. The grades will be highlighted green if a student is above target, and red if they are below. Students whose grades are on target are not highlighted.

  • Where your Sisra Administrator has entered expected grades into the EAPs for the cohort, the On/Above TrackAbove TrackOn Track, and Below Track columns are displayed in the Grades - Totals - Qualifications report.

Where EAPs have been created by using the students' targets as the EAP Baseline, use these columns to view which students are on, above, or below their targets.

In PE example below, 16 students are Above/On Track, 15 are Above Track, 1 is On Track, and 22 are Below Track:

When this data is compared with the values for the Target data using the Compare feature, the values in the Above/On Track, Above Track, On Track, and Below Track columns are identical to those displayed in the >= Targets, > Targets, = Targets, and < Targets columns:
