Overview

This article explains where you can find your school's key headline performance figures for KS4, for example, Attainment 8, Progress 8, Basics English and Maths, and EBacc. You can view thisĀ

Instructions

To open your headline performance figures in a report:

  1. Select REPORTS:
  2. Select the KS3/4 tab.
  3. Select a Cohort tab.
  4. Select a Report.
  5. Select Whole Cohort to open the Headlines Area - Summary Report - Whole Cohort.

If the Headlines Area - Summary Report - Whole Cohort does not open, select Headlines > Summary > Whole Cohort:

Outcome

You will then be presented with a series of tables listing your key school performance measures for the cohort, based on the grades in that specific report:

By default, the Summary Report opens. To open one of the other reports, select the Report type (Dashboard, Charts or Filters) for the Whole Cohort from the Headlines menu:

Select a report tab below to find out more about each view:

  • Select a section from the Summary report to find out about the information it contains:

    • Check your Cohort figure. This is the number of students on roll included in all headline calculations.

    • The cohort averages for Attainment 8 and Progress 8 are listed. Take note of the number of students included in Progress 8, as those without valid KS2 data will not be included in Progress 8, but if they are reported on, they will still be included in the cohort figure at the top, and other headline measures.

    • Positive Progress 8 scores help determine which baskets students are achieving Negative Progress 8 scores.

    • The next section shows Basics 9-7, Basics 9-5, and Basics 9-4 in English and Maths. It includes data on students achieving these grades in eligible English and Maths qualifications, as well as those achieving one or neither.

    • The KS4 Results section contains additional measures that can be compared to historical figures, for example, the 5 Standard passes measure is comparable with the old 5 A*-C measure, as this includes the grades 9-4 or A*-C.

You can also view handy overview single science and combined science measures too.

Select the question mark icon to view a breakdown of what is required for inclusion in a particular measure.

    • In the EBacc measures part of the report, there are separate tables for each EBacc element. The EBacc APS measure can be found here for the cohort and for each of the elements (remember, this is calculated using the overall cohort figure, rather than those entered for each element).

    • The next section of the report comprises in-depth Attainment 8 and Progress 8 scores for each element. English, Maths, the EBacc, and Open figures are included, as these are the elements the DfE provide estimates for each year.

    • The Value Added section lists the cohort scores in the three EBacc elements that the DfE releases estimates for (Science, Humanities, and Languages).

  • Select Headlines > Dashboard > Whole Cohort to view the Headlines Area - Dashboard Report - Whole Cohort.

TheDashboard provides an overview of official headline figures as a series of widgets/charts, for example, Basics, Attainment 8, and Progress 8.

  • Charts can be explored by selecting a figure for more details. An Attainment 8 vs KS2 scatter graph displays each student based on their KS2 starting point, with a line indicating the national average. Hover or drill down to see individual students and zoom in on specific groups.

  • The Filters headline report breaks down the key headline figures for each student filter group (imported by your Sisra Administrator), for example, attendance groups as shown below:
