Introduction
This article explains how you create a custom Authority Group to specify access levels for each staff member within a custom group of users, for example, an SLT-only group with greater access than a general User, but less than an Admin. By default, there are two Authority Groups in Sisra Analytics:
- Admin - Users in this group have access to all areas in Sisra Analytics (including HOME, DATA, CONFIG., USERS and REPORTS) and can access Locked and Embargoed Reports.
- User - Users in this group have access to HOME and REPORTS only. They have no access to Locked and Embargoed Reports.
If you are looking for details about setting up an embargo group, see Sisra Analytics: How do I create an Embargo User Group? (Admin)
Instructions
To create a new custom Authority Group:
- Select USERS.
- Select Groups.
- Select Create Group:
The Create Authority Group opens:
- Enter a Group Name.
- Optionally, enter a Group Description for the Group (in the second text box labelled Group Name).
- Select the permissions for the group in the Access column. When checked, access is available to members of the group, for example, the following group can access Whole Cohort Headline reports:
- Select Create Group.
Outcome
The group is created and you are returned to the Authority Groups list:
To assign a Custom Authority Group to a user, see Sisra Analytics: How do I change a user's authority group? (Admin)
When controlling access, be aware that although access to some report areas can be restricted, users can still apply filters. For example, if only one student meets the filter criteria, the user might be able to identify that student.
