Juniper Websites: Why am I being asked to update my Wonde permissions?

Overview

This article explains why you are being asked to update your school's Wonde permissions for Juniper Websites.

You may have seen a banner in the User Management (School / Users) area of Portal asking you to update your Wonde permissions.

This is part of an upgrade to the Juniper Websites login system. Updating your permissions has the following benefits:

  1. Two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect sensitive pupil data.
  2. Automatic user updates - user accounts link directly to your MIS, so if staff join or leave, their account access is updated automatically.

What you need to update

Some permission updates are required, while others are optional:

  • Required - you must update permissions to include staff details so that Juniper Websites user accounts can be managed.
  • Optional - you can update permissions for Pupils and Contacts, for example, parents and carers if you want to use Comms Hub to message parents and give parents access to the Juniper Education App.

For further information about what data Juniper Education needs from your MIS, see Portal: What data does Juniper Education need from our MIS?

If you do not see the banner above when you view your user list and are not being asked for two-factor authentication in Juniper Websites, your account has not been upgraded yet.
