MIS: How do I enable / disable a custom Contact Type?

Overview

This article explains how to enable / disable a custom Contact Type within Juniper MIS. When a custom Contact Type is disabled, it is not available for selection when defining the relationship between a pupil and a contact.

You cannot disable a custom Contact Type that is already being used to define a relationship between a pupil and contact.

Instructions

Open Contact Types

From the Juniper MIS, to open Contact Types:

  1. Select Contacts.
  2. Select Contact Types.

Enable / Disable a custom Contact Type

From Contact Types:

  1. Locate the custom Contact Type you want to enable or disable:
  2. Select the Contact Type to open it:
  3. From the Contact Type, select Edit:

    If there is no Edit button, the contact cannot be edited.

  4. From the edit view:
    1. Check Is Active to enable the custom Contact Type.
    2. Uncheck Is Active to disable the custom Contact Type.
  5. Select Save.

Outcome

A message is displayed confirming that your changes have been saved:

Where the custom Contact Type has been set to enabled it will be available for selection when creating the relationship between a pupil and a contact on their record

Select Back to return to the Contact Types list.
