Overview
This article explains how to enable / disable a custom Contact Type within Juniper MIS. When a custom Contact Type is disabled, it is not available for selection when defining the relationship between a pupil and a contact.
You cannot disable a custom Contact Type that is already being used to define a relationship between a pupil and contact.
Instructions
Open Contact Types
From the Juniper MIS, to open Contact Types:
- Select Contacts.
- Select Contact Types.
Enable / Disable a custom Contact Type
From Contact Types:
- Locate the custom Contact Type you want to enable or disable:
- Select the Contact Type to open it:

From the Contact Type, select Edit:
If there is no Edit button, the contact cannot be edited.
- From the edit view:
- Check Is Active to enable the custom Contact Type.
- Uncheck Is Active to disable the custom Contact Type.
- Select Save.
Outcome
A message is displayed confirming that your changes have been saved:
Where the custom Contact Type has been set to enabled it will be available for selection when creating the relationship between a pupil and a contact on their record
Select Back to return to the Contact Types list.
