Overview
This article explains how to record or update an absence for a staff member from the Absence tab in a staff member's record in the MIS.
Absences are recorded in Juniper MIS for statutory reporting purposes only. This system isn't designed for managing staff absences. Many types of absence can be recorded in the MIS; absence isn't limited to sickness or illness. Absence types that can be recorded, for example, include training, maternity / paternity leave, absence for public duties, secondment, sickness, and unauthorised absence.
Prerequisites
- You must have the appropriate permissions assigned to your Juniper account to add or edit staff absences.
Instructions
Follow these steps to add or edit a staff absence from Staff Absences:
- Select Staff.
- Select All Staff.
- Find the staff member from the All Staff list, using the Search and Filters as needed.
- Select the staff member's full name to open their record.
- Select the Absences tab:
- To create a new absence. select Create and go to Step 8:
- To edit an existing absence:
- Locate the absence from the list within the tab (using the filters as needed)
- Select the absence to open it.
- Select Edit.
- Complete / edit the absence details from Add / Edit Absence:
- Select the Start Date.
- Select an End Date.
- Optionally, enter Working Days Lost.
- Optionally, enter Number of Hours.
- Select an Absence Type.
- Optionally, add any additional notes under Note.
- Select Save.
Outcome
The absence is recorded for the member of staff. A message confirming the absence creation is displayed:
You are returned to the Absences tab, where the absence you've created is listed.
Select the absence in the list to review its details.
