Overview
This article provides details about why we request permission to access certain types of data from your school's MIS using a third-party, for example, Wonde, when you are using products that are part of our JoinUp platform (including Sonar Tracker and Juniper Websites).
Data requirements (all products)
All our JoinUp products require access to some basic information to run smoothly:
- Student details – This includes contextual information to store each pupil’s record properly and to allow you to perform any actions or analysis based on this.
- Staff details – We need the full names and email addresses of staff to give them access to all JoinUp .
Additional product-specific data requirements
Our products have additional data requirements to make sure they work correctly for you. Select a product below to find out more:
- For Awards & Activities, we require staff details (as explained above) to manage your user accounts. When you subscribe to Awards & Activities you can share positive news and information about a pupil's learning and achievements with their parents. For this, we require the names and contact details of parents, along with details about their relationship to the pupil.
- For Comms Hub, we require staff details (as explained above) to manage your user accounts. Comms Hub lets you message contacts by email and text message. For this, we require the names and contact details of parents, along with details about their relationship to the pupil.
- The Juniper Education App lets you communicate with parents (and staff). For this, we require the names and contact details of parents, along with details about their relationship to the pupil, so that accounts can be created and tailored information provided. Staff are automatically given access to this when they are set up for one of our other products that require their details (as explained above).
- For Sonar Tracker, we require staff details (as explained above) to manage your user accounts. When you subscribe to the Observations Module, you can use Sonar Tracker to send observations about a pupil's learning and achievements home to parents through the Juniper Education App (see above). For this, we require the names and contact details of parents, along with details about their relationship to the pupil.
- For Websites, we require staff details (as explained above) to manage your user accounts. If you have a Juniper Website, you have access to Comms Hub free of charge (see above). When you subscribe to the Communications Module, this uses Comms Hub to send direct messages, newsletters, calendar events and news items from your website through to the Juniper Education App (see above).
