Juniper Websites: How do I add a YouTube feed to my website?

Overview

This article explains how to add a YouTube feed or playlist that your school owns to your website using a component.

Prerequisites

You must have the following YouTube information:

Instructions

  1. Select Components from the Edit tab:
  2. Select Social media:
  3. Select YouTube Feed:
  4. When selected, the YouTube Feed Block is displayed:
  5. Enter your Google Api Key.
  6. Select the Source Type (either your school's YouTube channel Username or User ID).
  7. Enter the Playlist ID for the playlist you want to embed in the webpage (rather than embedding all videos within your channel). If you do not know your Playlist ID:
    1. Open the playlist you want to embed, using your web browser.
    2. Look at the playlist's URL in the browser. It will look something like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID&list=YOUR_PLAYLIST_ID. The Playlist ID is the value after the = sign in the URL, in this example YOUR_PLAYLIST_ID).
    3. Copy the Playlist ID part of the URL.
    4. Paste the Playlist ID into Playlist ID.
  8. Set the Limit to the number of videos you want to display. By default, this is set to 10.
  9. Optionally, select your Sort Order; by default, this is Date Descending.
  10. Select OK to add the content block to the content area.

Outcome

Your YouTube playlist will be embedded in the page. Save your page to preview.
