Overview
This article explains how to create a top-level heading (a main heading in the menu on your website). They typically display across the top of your website, for example:or are the first page links that you see within a burger menu:
We recommend limiting the number of top-level headings on your website to 6-7
Prerequisites
- You must be an Administrator to create top-level headings.
Instructions
When creating a top-level heading this way it will automatically publish the new page to the website making it immediately visible to visitors.
To create a new top-level heading:
- Select the Home tab then Sitemap View to navigate to the Sitemap View:
- Select Start Edit
A purple warning display confirms that you are in Edit mode: - Right-click on Main Menu then select Create:
- Select the type of content item you wish to create as a top-level heading, for example, Page:
- If you previously selected Page a page will be created that will be added to the bottom of the list. Rename the title of the page within Sitemap View:
- Select the page and select Visit to open the new page:
- Add content to the page.
- Select Save after updating the page.
Outcome
