This article explains why some students may not have a grade in the Average Grade column in the Grades > Totals > Students report as shown in the example below:
Average Grades can only be calculated if all of the qualifications taken by the student use the same Grade Method. An Average Grade can't be calculated if a student has, for example, 7 grades that use the GCSE 9-1 grade method and 2 grades that use the L1/L2 D*DMP grade method. This includes the Double Science award. Even if your student has all GCSE 9-1 grades except for Combined Science, the average grade cannot be calculated.
To find the students' average grade for each grade method:
- Open your report.
- Select the Options tab at the top of the report.
- Selecting a specific grade method from Grade Type:
Alternatively, to look at your students' average performance in all qualifications, use the Average Points column instead. This displays a more accurate judgement of your students' performance across all qualifications as long as they are awarded points, regardless ofthe grade method. You can then convert these points into an Average Grade yourself as required.
