Overview
Anchor tags (sometimes called "jump" links) are used in hyperlinks to take a user to different sections in a webpage. These could be particularly useful if you have a long webpage and want to add links at the top of the page to certain sections within it. The links allow the user to jump to different sections within the page. Additionally, you can jump from one webpage to a specific section within another webpage using anchors.
To use anchor tags in your website, you must first create the anchor tag on a webpage and then use it as as the URL (or part of the URL) when setting up a hyperlink.
Setting up an anchor tag
- Select the area of the website where you would like to create an Anchor Tag. This is where your anchor tag hyperlink navigates to when selected by a user.
- Select the Anchor icon from the Edit tab:
- The Anchor Properties window will appear:
- Type a name for your Anchor Tag in the Anchor Name field.
- Select OK.
- Save your changes. For further guidance see Juniper Websites: What do the different save options mean?
You can now create a link to your anchor.
