Sisra Analytics: KS5 - How do I complete the Matching Page? (Admin)

Overview

This article explains the purpose of the Matching page and how to complete it.

Each cohort has a universal Matching page for all types of grades data, such as Exams, Targets, and Assessments. This is the area where your EAPs and Grade Methods are assigned to each qualification.

You can use the approach below to set up both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in KS5. See Sisra Analytics: Can I set up Level 2 qualifications in Key Stage 5? (Admin) for more information.

Prerequisites

  1. You must have created at least one EAP and uploaded grades data for your cohort or the Matching page will be greyed out, making it inaccessible.
  2. Ensure you have the Matching page open, ready to edit:
    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select KS3/4 and Cohort.
    3. Select Grades.
    4. Select Matching.
    5. Select Edit:

Before you start matching, you can change your Qualification name if required. The one displayed is taken from your Grade File(s) and will appear in reports. If you decide to do this, use a clear, concise name that doesn't include the QN code / data type. For example, Art rather than Art Y13 AP1. For Level 2 qualifications, include L2 at the start of the Qualification name.

Instructions

Repeat Steps 1 - 4 for each qualification, then move onto Step 5 to complete the Matching page:

  • Select whether or not to include qualifications in reports:
    1. To include a qualification in reports, toggle Included to Yes (recommended for official qualifications).
    2. To exclude a qualification from reports, toggle Included to No. Qualifications that are not included in reports don't need to have matching completed in order to continue.
  • To match the qualification to the official DfE qualification:

    1. Enter the qualifications QN code (for example, 000/0000/0), qualification name (such as Art & Design), syllabus title, performance cohort, or any combination of these into Qual Title.
    2. Select the appropriate qualification from the list. After selecting the Qual Title, Sisra Analytics will automatically populate the remaining columns and identify how the qualification counts towards measures.

If your qualification is not listed in Qual Title, its unapproved and would not count towards school performance measures for that cohort. See Sisra Analytics: KS5 Matching: Unapproved Qualifications (Admin) for further information.

  • Select an appropriate EAP from those you have created for your cohort. The EAP is used to define the grade method (grade structure, points, and size) the qualification will use, for example, GCE A Level, AS Level, T Level Core, T Level Occupational Specialism, L3 BTEC Ext Cert, L2 GCSE 9-1, and L2 BTEC. It also determines on track analysis in the reports if you have entered expected grades into your EAPs.

If the row turns red, this suggests the grade method in the EAP selected and the grade method expected for the select qualification do not match. See Step 5 - Save changes, then check and resolve issues for further guidance.

  • Select the appropriate Faculty for each qualification (if required):

This is useful for Heads of Department / Faculty staff. By setting Faculties, you can group qualifications together in your reports and view a summary of their performance. For example, qualifications such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics could be grouped within a Science faculty.

Faculties are set up in CONFIG. > Faculty. See Sisra Analytics: How do I group qualifications by faculty in my reports? (Admin) for further information.

  • Select Save Changes.

All included qualifications must be matched and highlighted green to publish your grades data:

For orange, grey and red highlighted qualifications resolve any issues (as appropriate):

      Meaning Action
mceclip6.png Matching has not been completed for the qualification (QN/Qual Title or EAP column are blank) and therefore publishing will not be available. To complete Matching, select Edit and ensure an EAP is selected and a QN Title has been entered / selected (as detailed above)
mceclip8.png Included is set to No for the qualification. It will be excluded from reports.  Continue if this is intended.
mceclip7.png Qualification has been matched to an EAP using an incorrect grade structure. This could be due to an incorrect QN / Qual Title selected, an incorrect EAP selected, or the wrong Grade Method selected in your EAP.

Double check the Qual Title and EAP are correct. If you have saved your mappings, select the magnifying glass next to the qualification name for more details of any errors:

For further help troubleshooting see Sisra Analytics: How do I resolve a QN/EAP mismatch in KS5? (Admin).

Outcome

Your Matching page is completed:

Your qualifications will now count accurately towards figures in the reports, and you are ready to publish your grades data.

After Matching has been completed, check Grades Management for further setup issues (which Sisra Analytics will flag with warning icons) before publishing. For more information on grades management, see Grades Management.
