Sisra Analytics: How do I fix student data imported into the wrong cohort? (Admin)

Overview

This article explains how to fix imported student data assigned to the wrong cohort. The quickest way to do this is to import the data into the correct cohort and then delete the incorrect entries.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an administrator.

Instructions

Follow these steps to fix the problem:

    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select Key Stage.
    3. Select Cohort.
    4. Select Students.
    5. Select Import to open the Import File - Student Data window:
      1. Select your Key Stage.
      2. Select the upload file containing the correct data.
      3. Select Import.
    6. Review the Column Mapping for the Student Data and make changes if required.
    7. Select Continue with the import.
    8. In the Student Data Import window:
      1. Check Update Status to tell Sisra Analytics that the correct cohort of students is included within the selected file. This reverts any students in the file to their previous status and sets the students imported in error to Left School.
      2. Select Complete the import.
    9. The Student List opens with incorrect Student IDs listed in the Inactive Students section:
    10. Remove the incorrect Student IDs:
      1. Select Select All.
      2. Checking for any students with correct Student IDs, who should be Left School for the cohort. Uncheck these.
      3. Select Delete.
      4. When prompted, confirm whether you want to delete only their student details or all data. Select either option here, as the students won't have this information.
      5. Select Delete.

Outcome

The incorrect student data is deleted and replaced with the correct data, ensuring students are in the correct cohort.

As each cohort in Analytics is managed separately, deleting the students from an incorrect cohort will not affect the correct cohort if these students have any data uploaded there.
