Overview
This article provides tips for formatting Core Baselines from GIAP into a format suitable for importing into Sisra Analytics.
Juniper Education's support team do not provide customers with desktop support for Excel.
Prerequisites
You must have:
- A licensed copy of Microsoft Excel (or a similar product).
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (or similar product).
- Downloaded your student data from GIAP.
- Opened your GIAP KS4 baseline export in Microsoft Excel (or a similar product).
- Created a new blank spreadsheet to copy your values into. This should be saved as either a CSV or XLSX file.
Instructions
Follow these steps to create a new file, based on your GIAP export, for importing into Sisra Analytics:
- The GIAP provides each student’s UPN within the export file for KS4 baselines. If you use a different Student ID within Sisra Analytics, add this to your Excel file before importing.
- Insert a new column into your GIAP export for the Student ID.
- Use a VLOOKUP formula to populate the Student IDs for each student, using the UPN as the lookup value.
- Copy the contents of the new column.
-
Paste the values into Column A of the newly created spreadsheet as values:
- Save the separate spreadsheet.
- The GIAP export provides student names in two columns. By default, Column D is Forename, and Column E is Surname. These must be merged into one column to import into Sisra Analytics.
- In the GIAP export, insert a new column where the combined student name will appear.
-
Enter the following formula in the first row of the new column:
=CONCATENATE(D2," ",E2)
- Fill / drag the formula down the column for all students.
- Copy the completed column of full names.
-
Paste the list of full names into Column B of your separate spreadsheet:
- Save the separate spreadsheet.
- The GIAP export provide each student’s Overall APS in Column AY (KS4_PTSPE_PTQ_EE) and their GCSE APS in Column AZ (KS4_GPTSPE_PTQ_EE).
- In the GIAP export, copy Columns AY and AZ
-
Paste these into Columns C and D of your separate spreadsheet:
- Save the separate spreadsheet.
Outcome
The separate spreadsheet file that you have created is ready to be imported into Sisra Analytics. The APS values are in separate columns, meaning you can select the Broadsheet import type.
