How do I use Map Maker to create Yearly Overviews?

This section allows staff to create their own, bespoke Yearly Overviews.

How to create a Yearly Overview

  • Hover over the Map Maker option in the Navigation (top right).
  • Select Map Maker.
  • Select your year group, for example, Year 1.
  • Select Yearly Overview.
  • Select one of the three options for units of work per term: 2, 4 or 6. 
  • Once selected, a box for each unit for each term is displayed. 
  • Start at the top and enter an Overview Name, for example, Year 1 2021-2022 
  • Select each unit (e.g. Autumn 1) and enter the title, for example, Holidays 
  • Select + on each Subject you will be covering in that unit. Enter the coverage. For example. In Writing, you may enter Postcards. Geography – Hot and Cold Places and Art – Painting. This is just for coverage, so it does not have to be detailed. 
  • Repeat for each unit over the year.
  • When completed, select Save Map. 

After saving your work, select the button at the bottom of the page to download it as a PDF. 

To return to the map, or delete the map, select My Yearly Overviews (found in the Map Maker tab in the Navigation bar). 

All maps are arranged by year group.
