Portal: What are the benefits of signing in with JoinUp?

Overview

Signing in through Portal gives you one sign-in for all your Juniper Education JoinUp products. This article explains the benefits for you and your school.

You sign in with one email address and one password. After that, you can open every product you have access to.

Benefits of signing in through Portal

Extra security for your data

Our systems hold sensitive information about children and staff. Portal protects it with two-factor authentication. This means we send a verification code to your email address when you sign in.

Portal trusts the device you are using for 8 hours. During that time, you don't need to enter a code again.

One sign-in for all your products

You don't need a separate username and password for each product. Sign in through Portal, then open any JoinUp product you have access to, for example, Sonar Tracker, Sisra Analytics, Awards and Activities and Juniper Websites.

Access managed in one place

Account Owners and Account Admins manage everyone's access from Portal. They can:

  1. Invite staff to one or more products.
  2. Change a staff member's role for a product.
  3. Remove access to one product, or to all products, when it's no longer needed.
  4. Manage access for a single school or across a Trust.

This saves time and helps keep your school's data secure when staff join or leave.

Fewer passwords to remember

You have one password to remember. If you forget it, select Forgot your password? on the Login page to reset it. See Portal: How do I reset my password?

Quick switching between products

After you sign in, you move between products without signing in again using the app switcher. See How do I switch between Juniper apps / products?

One email address across schools and Trusts

If you work in more than one school, or across a Trust, you can use one email address for all. You then switch between schools without signing out. See How do I switch between schools?

The same sign-in on the Juniper Education App

Teachers and other staff use the same account to sign in to the Juniper Education App. 

Account Owners and Account Admins invite parents to the app through Portal, so everyone connects to your school in one place.

What you get for free with JoinUp

When you sign in through JoinUp you also have the option to use these products at no extra cost:

  1. Comms Hub - Send emails, text messages, and notifications to your school community from one place.
  2. Intelligence - See the groups of pupils who would benefit from focus and intervention, based on data you already hold.
  3. Communities - Relevant updates to help you understand your products and, keep abreast of the latest education news.
  4. Juniper Education App - Teachers can use functionality related to your Juniper Education products on their mobile devices. Build home-school relationships by inviting parents to use the app, where they will find updates from your school. The content available in the App varies depending on the Juniper Education product you subscribe to. 
  5. Juniper MIS - Free for eligible customers who choose to use it as their school MIS.
