Juniper Websites: How do I add an image stored in my OneDrive to a webpage?

Overview

This article explains how to add an image from OneDrive to a page on your Juniper Website.

Prerequisites

You must have set up Juniper Websites to access your school's OneDrive. See Juniper Websites: How do I set up OneDrive in Juniper Websites? for more information.

Instructions

Follow these instructions to add an image stored in OneDrive to your website:

  1. Navigate to the area of the website where you would like to insert the image.
  2. Select Edit from the Website tab:
  3. Select Browse Server:
  4. Select Microsoft OneDrive from the File Manager window to view the files stored in OneDrive, along with any OneDrive folders:
  5. Locate the image that you want to share (for example, in the Pictures > Camera Roll folder):
  6. Roll over the image to view its share settings:
    1. Only images shared with anyone will be visible be users accessing your website (no lock icon).
    2. Private or restricted access images (for example, those shared with named people) can be inserted, but end users will not see them. Private images display a lock icon, restricted access files don't always, they may appear unlocked, but have restrictions. If your file has restrictions, you will be warned of this in Step 10 below.
  7. If you need to change the shared settings so that anyone can view the image, you must do this through OneDrive, not Juniper Websites:

    1. Locate the file in Microsoft OneDrive.
    2. Select the three dots next to the file name (More Actions)
    3. Select Share.
    4. Select the cog next to Copy link (Link settings).
    5. Select Anyone.
    6. Select Apply.

There might be a delay in OneDrive permission changes reflecting in File Manager due to caching.

  8. Select the image that you want to link to. If the image is private / has restrictions, a warning displays:

Select Insert image if you want to continue (for example, if you are going to change the settings, using the guidance in Step 7 afterwards), or select Cancel.

    Select either:

    • Insert link to continue to Step 11 (for example, if you are going to change the settings, using the guidance in Step 9 afterwards).
    • Go to file to open the OneDrive file online.
    • Cancel if you decide not to create a link.
  9. The Image Properties page displays with details of the image URL populated:
  10. Select OK to close the Image Properties window and insert the image.

Outcome

The image is displayed on the webpage where you selected.

Select the image to change any of the properties as required.
