...to troubleshoot an invalid CTF from Integris, Arbor or School pod.

If you have tried to import a CTF and you get an error message telling you the file is invalid. you can use this tool in the software to identify the errors.

1. In Target Tracker;

2. Select File > Options > Tools > Data File Validator

3. Load File > Browse for the invalid file and load

4. Check ‘Select data File Type’ says - CTF 22 partial

5. Select ‘Validate’

If Invalid

Errors will be shown below and may help you work out what needs editing. If Sex / Gender is mentioned please ensure you have followed this guidance - Target Tracker: Resolving an invalid CTF for 2024-25 Academic Year . If you have and there is still an error, this is most likely due to an error in editing so we suggest repeating this ensuring both tags have been edited;

<Sex> to <Gender>

and

</Sex> to </Gender>

Eg

<Gender>M</Gender> and <Gender>F</Gender>

If it seems to be an ethnicity code please check the code has 4 letters (All valid ethnicity codes have 4 letters). If these codes are shown; ABRI, BBRI and /or ORAB please follow this guidance to edit this - Target Tracker: To edit ethnicity code errors using Notepad or Wordpad

Once you have edited the file, try importing again. If it is still invalid please contact support.

If Valid

But you get an error message when importing in to Target Tracker, follow this guidance - Target Tracker: Identifying why a file is invalid using Excel and Editing it in Wordpad/Notepad
