Juniper Websites: How do I import calendar events?

Overview

This article explains how you can import events from an existing calendar into your website calendar using an ICS file.

Prerequisites

You will need an ICS file containing the events you want to import into a website calendar category. Many calendar tools including Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar allow you to export your events by creating an ICS file.

If you want to import the events in the ICS file into a new calendar category, you must first make the category. For further information see Juniper Websites: Creating Additional Calendar Categories

When you export your events using an ICS file, only select those events/categories in your calendar that you want to make public on your website.

Instructions

From the calendar on your website where you want to import the events:

  1. Select the Edit tab.
  2. Select Import Events to view the import menu:
  3. Select Choose file and select the ICS file to import into the calendar from your computer.
  4. Check one or more website calendar categories where the imported events will be added to:
  5. Select Import.

Outcome

The events contained in your ICS file are successfully imported into your website calendar. These events can be edited and deleted in the usual way, using the options within the Edit tab on the Admin Toolbar.
