Although primary and secondary schools or nurseries have a partial exemption from meeting the government accessibility requirements for public sector bodies, they must still publish an accessibility statement on their website.

The following steps will explain how to add an Accessibility Statement to your website:
Editing the Accessibility Page on your Website
- Select Accessibility Statement from the Website tab.
- You will be taken to your dedicated accessibility page to edit the content.
Adding your Accessibility Statement to the Page
We recommend that you add the content directly to the page, but you can also add an accessible PDF containing the information, so that it can be downloaded too.
- Use the usual page editing tools on the content editor ribbon to add the Accessibility Statement to the content area of the page.
- If you choose to add an Accessible PDF version, it can be added as a page attachment, to appear at the bottom of your page.
Viewing the Accessibility Statement
When visiting the site, your dedicated accessibility statement page can be accessed by going to your website address followed by /accessibility-statement
- e.g. https://my-school-site.sch.uk/accessibility-statement
There should also be a link to this in the footer of your website. If this does not exist, please get in touch so that this link can be added.
