Sisra Analytics: Grade Management - How do I fix the Missing Class Data warning? (Admin)

Overview

This article explains what Missing Class Data warnings are and how to troubleshoot and fix them. As part of the upload process, Sisra Analytics checks the grades you upload and flags any warnings. The Missing Class Data icon indicates that at least one student with a grade uploaded in that qualification has no class data imported for the selected set of classes, for the associated key stage.

If reports are published when Missing Class Data warnings have not been resolved, the affected student(s) will be placed in a Not in Class group when viewing class analysis.

The instructions below work for both KS3/4 and KS5.

    3. Locate the qualification that flagged a warning in the Set of Classes.
    4. If the qualification is Assigned, move to Step 2.
    5. If it is unassigned, check if there is a relevant set of classes available to assign for this qualification:
      1. Select the pencil icon or the + icon:
      2. Assign the class and select Save:
      3. If a suitable class is not available, create the missing class manually (See Create a new set of classes manually below).
    1. Select Students.
    2. Select Cohort.
    3. Select the Student.
    4. Select the Classes tab:

    7. If the students doesn't have class data:
      1. Check to see if the student has appropriate class data imported within a different set of classes.
      2. Select Edit Classes if the student is already assigned to that set of classes.
      3. Or select Add Class if the student is not in that set of classes.
      4. If the class does not exist within the set of classes, create the missing classes manually (See Create a new set of classes manually below). If the student does not have appropriate class data imported, then move on to Step 3

  • Confirm whether or not the student sat in a class, or the qualification was timetabled:

    1. If YES, add the student to the class, by selecting either Edit Classes or Add Class. If the class doesn't exist, create it manually (See Create a new set of classes manually below).
    2. If NO, for example, if the qualification was being run off-site, create an Offsite or N/A class to reflect this (See Create a new set of classes manually below).

Create a new set of classes manually

Follow these instructions to create a new set of classes or teaching groups manually, if a qualification is assigned but there are no classes available, or the student sat the qualification off-site / it was not timetabled:

    1. Select Grades.
    2. Select Grades Management.
    3. Select Manage Datasets.
    4. Select the appropriate data set and assessment collection.
    5. Either:

      2. Or select the Grades Count for the subject, then select Create the missing class information from the banner:

    6. If Set of Classes is blank:

      1. Enter a Set of Classes Name for the classes, for example, Off Site Group A.
      2. Enter a Class Name, for example, Off Site.

      3. Review the student list and uncheck any students who shouldn't be included.

      4. Select Save. The qualification will be assigned to the new set of classes and class data added for those students.

    7. If Set of Classes is populated:

      1. In Teaching Group either select an appropriate existing class, or leave it as N/A to create a new class in the existing set.

      2. Review and adjust the student list.

      3. Select Save.

      4. To rename the N/A class:

        1. Select Students.
        2. Select Classes.
        3. Select Manage Classes.
        4. Select the set of classes from the Set of Classes Name column.
        5. Locate the class in the Class Name column.
        6. Select the pencil icon.
        7. Rename the class.
        8. Select Save.

Outcome

Any Missing Class Data warnings will be fixed. Qualifications are correctly assigned to a set of classes, and students are correctly assigned to classes linked to a qualification.
