Sisra Analytics: What is the Sisra Data Collaboration?

Overview

This article explains what the Sisra Data Collaboration is, and provides details of which reports are Data Collaboration enabled, and what additional functionality it gives you.

What is the Sisra Data Collaboration?

The Sisra Data Collaboration collects selected anonymised results data from schools to create a "national picture" across all opted-in schools. After opting in and configuring your system, when the data is published, you can compare your school's headline / subject-based figures with those of other opted-in schools across the country, before the DfE releases the official data.

The latest event is the 24/25 Exams collaboration, which consisted of 1,174 schools (224,449 students) in the latest window.

All collected data will be anonymous and cannot be linked to specific schools or students, thus not subject to GDPR. Only schools that have opted into the current Data Collaboration event, successfully completed the setup, and passed post-collection validation checks will have their data included.

Which reports have Sisra Data Collaboration enabled?

Sisra Data Collaboration is enabled on any report whose name is suffixed with DC INCLUDED:

DC INCLUDED will only show your school's Sisra Administrator must have published the report with Data Collaboration enabled.

Select Dataset Info to check what dataset has been used when publishing the report.

Your Sisra Administrator must republish the report with official estimates once released, to ensure the figures are calculated in line with the DfE.

What features does SIsra Data Collaboration provide in the reports?

After publishing with collaboration data, reports have these extra features:

  • The Data Collaboration allows us to calculate average values and, therefore, produce a set of Attainment 8 and Value Added estimates, which you can choose to use until the official estimates for the cohort are released by the DfE (if applicable). This lets you view what your school’s Progress 8 and Value Added figures could be, before the DfE releases official figures.
  • All headline figures can be compared to the collaboration data, so you can see how your school has performed compared with all Sisra Analytics schools that opted in. These figures can also be broken down by Disadvantaged, SEN, and Gender

  • SPI, a Sisra exclusive measure, which shows how each of your students have performed in a subject, compared to how all students in the collaboration data with the same KS2 Prior performed. This can be viewed for Faculties, Qualifications, Classes, and individual students.

You can also view an SPI Scattergraph for individual qualifications:
