Juniper Websites: Add Ons - Data Dashboard

The Data Dashboard lets you view pupil, contact, and staff data held in your website that has been synchronised from your school MIS or manually added.  Additionally, you can view information about previously sent communications.

The Data Dashboard is found in the Add-ons tab, if you have purchased any of our MIS-enabled add-ons (Parent Portal, Parents' Evenings, Email or Text Messaging).

Checking your synchronised data

When synchronising data, the dashboard is used to verify that your data has synchronised correctly. 

If anything is missing or incorrect, you should check the data has been entered correctly in your MIS system. 

The following sub-sections detail the synchronised data you may want to check:

Parental Contacts

  1. Each parent should have a contact record with their details.
  2. Only parents marked as Parentally responsible in your MIS will be included in communication tools. Check that this marker is set correctly for all parents.

Court Orders

  1. If a parent has a court order preventing contact, check that this is indicated in your MIS so they are not included in communications from Juniper Websites.

Staff Emails

  1. Check that all staff emails are entered as work email addresses to ensure the correct ones are synchronised.

Staff Groups

  1. Check that staff are assigned to the correct groups in your MIS. These groups will sync to the dashboard for use within the tools.

Searching for data

  1. Open the Add-ons tab:
  2. Select Data Dashboard:
  3. From within the Data Dashboard, select the Students, Contacts or Staff information as required:
  4. From the Students, Contacts or Staff information views (open using the tabs on the left of the window):

    • Search by entering part of the pupil, contact or staff name in Text Search
    • Narrow down the number of records shown using the filters after the top of the page.
    • Select the hourglass icon to apply the filters and search for records based on your search criteria. 

Viewing Pupil Records

  1. If you view a pupil through the dashboard, you can see:
    1. Linked contact details.
    2. Classes.
    3. Groups.
    4. Parents' Evenings they have been included in.
    5. Recent emails and text messages sent.
    6. Reports shared through the Parent Portal.
  2. Parents' Evenings, Communications or reports listed will appear for the contacts of the pupil when they log in.  

Adding additional groups

Most MIS systems allow you to create additional groups, which can be synchronised to your website, and this is the most effective way to keep your groups up to date.  If this is not possible, for example, if your recipients are not held in your MIS system, you can manually add recipients and groups.

Email and text messaging delivery status information

Email and Text messages status information is updated overnight. It lets you check for message failures the following day:

  1. Open the Add-ons tab:
  2. Select Data Dashboard:
  3. From within the Data Dashboard, select either Emails or Text Messages:
  4. Set the date range to search. 
  5. The charts show the number of items in each status.
  6. The list below shows the individual emails / text messages, with the number of failed messages.
  7. Open an item to see more details about the message, including any recipients the message failed to send to:John_Jones_Administrator.gif
