Add / remove a payment provider

Overview

This article explains how to connect to and disconnect from a payment provider, for example, Stripe, to accept online payments for clubs and trips. It also explains how to see the status of your account connection and disconnect your Stripe account.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an Account Owner or Account Admin to add / remove a payment provider. 

Connect to Stripe

Follow these steps to connect to / set up a Stripe account to take payments:

  1. Open Portal.
  2. Select My School.
  3. Select Payments.
  4. Select Connect Stripe:

  5. Follow the instructions to connect an existing account, or register a new Stripe account.

On successful completion, the screen updates with your account details and a connected confirmation message:

Disconnect from Stripe

Follow these steps to disconnect your Stripe account:

  1. Open Portal.
  2. Select My School.
  3. Select Payments.
  4. Select Disconnect Strip.

  5. Select Confirm, to continue with the disconnection when prompted.

On successful confirmation, the screen updates with a disconnected message:

Tips and best practices

  1. When connected to Stripe, select Open Stripe Dashboard to open a browser window containing the Stripe Dashboard (on Stripe's website). 
  2. If you disconnect your account in error, follow the steps in Connect to Stripe above to reconnect it.

Payment providers, for example Stripe, charge fees on collected payments. To find out more, please contact your payment provider directly.
