SEO is used to help search engines learn more about your website using keywords and meta descriptions. Historically, adding these improved Search Engine Rankings (SER) and moved websites up in search results. As this functionality is easy to manipulate, many search engine providers have removed it from their ranking algorithm. Despite this, keywords and meta descriptions are a great way to promote information about a particular page and encourage visitors to your site.
Your meta description may not always appear in search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo, as search engines frequently pick out snippets of text from your site, rather than use the description.
