Juniper Websites: Custom Data

Every website is set up differently. Depending on how your site has been set up, you can edit specific areas of your site using Custom Data.

If you find an area of your website that you can't edit directly, open Custom Data to see if it is editable from there. Items that may be editable through Custom Data include:

  1. A homepage slideshow or other homepage features.
  2. Information on a staff page.
  3. Quick links at the top of the site.
  4. Footer content.
  5. A pop-up.  

Accessing your Custom Data

Through a tooltip

You may see a tooltip which will give quick access to your custom elements, for example from your website homepage.  

From the Website tab

  1. Select Custom Data from the Website tab:
  2. Select the item to edit from the list:

    There is a title and short description for each Custom Data item. The content of this menu differs based on how your website has been created.
  3. A page with the settings for the element you have chosen is displayed, or a list of items if there are multiple elements, for example, House Points. Each house has its own item listed.  
  4. To add additional items (as applicable) select Add Item.
  5. To edit an item select its title in the list
  6. To re-order items (where applicable) right-click and drag the item into position.

Editing your Custom Data

  1. Each custom data option will have different values to configure, based on its purpose, for example, you may need to enter a title, text, set a link or add an image. 
  2. Select Update to save any changes you have made.

Deleting a Custom Data Item

  1. Select the delete icon for the item you want to delete.
  2. When prompted, select Confirm deletions at the top of the list to finalise the removal.
