Juniper Websites: Using Location Manager

Overview

The Location Manager allows you to include pages, photo albums and news articles in multiple places across your website. When the original item is updated, it will also be updated in the alternate locations, saving time and ensuring consistency of information across your website.

Setting an additional location

  1. Navigate to the item you would like to add to another location.
  2. Select Location Manager from the Edit tab to open the Location Manager window:Location Manager.gif
In the left-hand column, the primary location for your page is displayed.
  3. Using the sitemap in the right-hand column, navigate to the area where you would like a copy of the page to appear.
  4. Select to highlight the location.
  5. Select Add to create a new copy of the item in that area. The left-hand column will display all locations where copies of your page have been created.
  6. Save your changes.

Editing or removing additional page / item locations

To edit content on a copy of a page or remove an additional location, you first need to find and access the original page/item.

Finding the original location

  1. Navigate to a page on your website.
  2. If unsure whether you're on the additional location select EDIT. If it’s an additional location, you'll see a message stating: This item is a copy of another page on the site and cannot be directly edited.
  3. Select Edit the original to access the original copy of the page:

Removing additional page / item locations

  1. Select the hierarchy icon from the EDIT tab.  You will may see a + symbol and a number, for example, +1,  indicating how many additional locations this particular page has on your website:
  2. From the Location Manager window that opens, select the Additional Location in the left-hand column to remove.
  3. Select Remove:

The remove option will only display when you have selected an additional location. It will not appear if you select the original location. This prevents the original location from being deleted accidentally.

Saving

Once you have added or removed the additional location, you will need to save the page to confirm the change.

Select Save on the Edit tab and choose the desired save option:
